Ode to Imperfection: the Beauty of the Wasted

I think by now we all, more or less, kind of agree that something with a little bit of history is much nicer than the spotless and shiny brand new. I took this pictures, during our last road trip, at this beautiful town named Carmel by the Sea: lots of wood doors and fences, painted and re-painted, wasted by the passage of time and the sea breeze. Layers of history, layers of stories intertwined with nature.

Creo que más o menos todos estamos de acuerdo en que algo con un poco de historia es más bonito que lo impoluto e impecablemente nuevo. Hice estas fotografías durante nuestro último road trip, en este precioso pueblo que se llama Carmel by the Sea: montones de puertas y vallas de madera, pintadas y repintadas, gastadas con el paso del tiempo y la brisa marina. Capas de historia, capas de historias entrelazadas con la naturaleza.
