San Miguel Primavera Sound 2012: Marianne Faithfull
Marianne Faithfull first came to me -during a season of my life in which cinema was my means of escape- with one film called Irina Palm, and I had no idea why there were so many people in the cinema waiting to see her in particular, because it seemed to arouse so much curiosity with regards to her role as an actress. I decided to request some spiritual counseling from Google and there appeared a song that had been hiding in some corner of my memories, set there by my parents at a time when I was little. As tears go by, was the rebellious fury of a London girl, tearing her delicate voice and angelic face on a stage set by the best British bands of 60’s rock and roll.
She never took her break up with Mick Jagger very well, but she inspires a sense of freedom with hits like Broken English even now; still up on stage performing for an audience of ageing dinosaurs of rock, and some younger people like myself, who will be secretly going to see her play at San Miguel Primavera Sound 2012 in Barcelona, but… Shhh, it’s a secret.

Marianne Faithfull vino a mí -en una época donde el cine era mi vía de escape- con una gran película llamada Irina Palm, aunque yo no sabía por qué en el cine donde fui a verla había tanta gente expectante por ella en especial, porque parecía despertar gran curiosidad su faceta como actriz. Como soy inquieto solicité asesoría espiritual a Google y allí apareció una canción que estaba en un rincón de mi memoria puesta por mis padres cuándo yo era pequeño. As tears go by, una furia rebelde de una chiquilla londinense destrozando con su delicada voz y su cara angelical un escenario dispuesto para las bandas inglesas en los mejores años 60 del rock and roll.
A ella nunca le sentó muy bien su ruptura con Mick Jagger, pero se libera muy bien con éxitos como Broken English cuando hoy aún se sube a un escenario a desmelenar a dinosaurios del rock y a algunos mas jóvenes, como yo, que en secreto la iremos a ver al San Miguel Primavera Sound 2012 en Barcelona, pero… Shhh, es un secreto.
Esta mujer es como los buenos caldos, sigue mejorando.
