I Break Horses – ‘Winter Beats’
I don’t like to show off, but now that the season of music festivals is about to begin around the world, and I am getting glimpses of some of the band names that have been played during the cold winter months as part of our music recommendations, I feel a great sense of satisfaction and happiness in recognising that we have shared with you some really great bands with songs that have since become musical hits.
Such is the case with bands like Friends who will be coming to Primavera Sound 2012 this year, and who have managed to open the doors wide with several of their songs -especially the one recommended by us, ‘I’m his Girl- to gain much respect within the critical world. The same is also the case with French musician M83 who is in the midst of his world tour, and who is returning to the Catalan capital to repeat his wonderful live performance which filled Razzmatazz venue a month ago, and gave us an incredible night out.
This year the bar has been set very high, and the last thing we want to do is to miss out on bands like I Break Horses, a Swedish group that takes us back to a time when the Shoegaze was frowned upon but which is now kept close to our hearts. Today, as a preview of what I hope will be an appetizer for a great festival, we are sharing with you the song Winter Beats, one of the biggest hits of the last summer.

No me gusta presumir, pero ahora que comienza la temporada de festivales de música alrededor del mundo, y vislumbro nombres de bandas que han estado durante los fríos meses de invierno en nuestras recomendaciones musicales, siento una gran satisfacción y enorme felicidad al reconocer que hemos compartido con vosotros grandes bandas con canciones que se convierten en hitos musicales. Tal es el caso de bandas como Friends que vendrán este año al festival Primavera Sound 2012, y a los que se les han abierto las puertas de par en par al ubicar varias de sus canciones -y en especial la recomendada por nosotros ‘I’m his girl’- en posiciones muy altas dentro la crítica mundial. Igual ocurre con el francés M83 que, en medio de su gira mundial, vuelve a la capital catalana para repetir su maravilloso espectáculo en vivo que hace un mes llenó el Razzmatazz y nos hizo pasar una noche increíble.
Este año el listón está muy alto, y no queremos perdernos de vista a grupos como I Break Horses, grupo sueco que nos traslada a una época no muy lejana en la que el Shoegaze estaba mal visto pero que hoy en día se lleva en el bolsillo del abrigo. Hoy, como un adelanto de lo que puede ser el aperitivo para un gran festival, os dejamos la canción Winter Beats, uno de los grandes éxitos del pasado verano.
