A Fresh Romanticism for Valentino
Photographer Deborah Turbeville is the one in charge of, not only portraying the last campaign by Valentino for next summer but also of recreating that new universe that, thanks to Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli, aims to refresh and rejuvenate the iconic Italian house.
Since the ones who had been in charge of the accessories lines became the creative directors, more than three years ago, their main goal has been trying to combine the stylistic legacy of the brand together with a wise rejuvenating operation.
If the critical environment generated around their first collections -sometimes for being too loyal to the brand and some others for not being so- didn’t look quite promising, the truth is that the pair seems to have reached the balance they were pursuing and, as evidence of it, here it is this beautiful and romantic new campaign, mixing delicacy and feminity, which you can see complete in here.

La fotógrafa Deborah Turbeville es la encargada de, no solo retratar la última campaña de Valentino para el próximo verano sino también de recrear ese nuevo universo que, de mano de Maria Grazia Chiuri y Pier Paolo Piccioli, pretende de un tiempo a esta parte, refrescar y rejuvenecer la mítica marca italiana.
Desde que los que habían sido hasta entonces responsables de los accesorios de la firma se hicieron con la dirección creativa de todo el diseño en general, hace ya más de tres años, su principal cometido ha sido tratar de combinar con coherencia el legado estilístico de la casa y una sesuda operación de rejuvenecimiento.
Si bien el ambiente de crítica generado en torno a sus primeras colecciones -en unas ocasiones por pecar de exceso de fidelidad y en otras por alejarse demasiado de ésta- parecía poco alentador, lo cierto es que la pareja parece haberse acercado muy acertadamente a ese equilibrio que perseguían y como prueba, esta preciosa y romántica nueva campaña, mezcla de una deliciosa delicadeza y feminidad, que se puede ver completa aquí.
