Paris FW: Ann Demeulemeester S/S 12
Inside the Cordeliers Convent, the floor was covered this time with thin desert sand to transport all the attendants to the oriental dream Belgian designer Ann Demeulemeester displayed with her next summer collecion, during last Paris Fashion Week.
Inspired by the figure of Swiss writer Isabelle Eberhart, who travelled during many years the North of Africa dressed in men’s clothes, Demeulemeester has created a story of fusion and exotism in which blazers coexist with caftans, decorated with tassels, brocades and long fringes, withouth leaving behind her representative deconstructed and fluid silhouettes. Abundant transparencies and floor-length dresses gave the most femenine touch to a collection mainly developed in cream and black, with a dégradé motif as the one and only print.

El suelo del interior del Couvent des Cordeliers se llenó esta vez de fina arena del desierto para transportar a los presentes al sueño oriental que la diseñadora belga Ann Demeulemeester desplegaba con su colección para el próximo verano, durante la pasada Semana de la Moda de Paris.
Inspirada por la figura de la escritora suiza Isabelle Eberhart, que recorrió durante gran parte de su vida el Norte de África vestida con ropa de hombre, Demeulemeester ha creado una historia de fusión y exotismo en la que blazers y caftanes van de la mano, adornados con aplicaciones de borlas, brocados y largos flecos, sin abandonar sus características desestructuradas y fluidas siluetas. Las abundantes transparencias y los vestidos hasta el suelo ponen el toque más femenino a una colección que se desarrolla, principalmente, en crema y negro, con un degradado como única concesión a los estampados.
