The Endless Summer
The idea of an eternal summer looks, as cold times get closer, more and more appealing. My experiences on a surfboard can be counted on the fingers of my hands -of a single hand, actually- but I really wouldn’t mind at all joining up the guys in The Endless Summer by Bruce Brown to travel the globe from one beach to another searching for the perfect wave.
As it seems I am not the only nostalgic in here, tonight takes place in Central Kino in Berlin (Rosenthaler Str. 39) a new Blue Surf Film Nacht organized by Blue Magazine and in which, apart from The Endless Summer, will also be screened Get-N Classic, the latest surf film by Vans and Eat, Pray, Surf a short-film by German duo Lukas Steinbrecher and Ulf Wahls.
The pics in this entry are by Leroy Grannis, the mythical photographer that not only captured the whole surf scene till his decease last February at 94 years old, but who also meaningfully contributed with his iconic images to define a whole lifestyle.

La idea de un verano eterno se hace, cada vez que se acerca más el frío, más y más apetecible. Mis experiencias encima de una tabla se puede contar con los dedos de la mano -de una mano, de hecho- pero no me importaría nada enrolarme ahora mismo con los chicos de The Endless Summer de Bruce Brown para recorrer el mundo de una playa a otra buscando la ola perfecta.
Como parece que no soy la única nostálgica por aquí, esta noche se celebra en el Central Kino de Berlín (Rosenthaler Str. 39) una nueva Blue Surf Film Nacht organizada por Blue Magazine y en la que, además de The Endless Summer, también se proyectarán Get-N Classic, la última película de surf de Vans y Eat, Pray, Surf un corto de los alemanes Lukas Steinbrecher y Ulf Wahls.
Las imágenes de esta entrada son de Leroy Grannis, el mítico fotógrafo que no solo retrató la escena del surf hasta su fallecimiento el pasado febrero a los 94 años, sino que contribuyó significativamente con sus icónicas imágenes a definir un estilo de vida.
