The dramatic partying-hard-like diva make up, the backcombed hair so Diana Ross and the asymmetric and light floor-lenght dresses make totally clear these are the most deluxe 70’s: the exotic ones with flowers everywhere, the ones of the explicit sensuality, the sparkles and the powerful colour. I think the multiple references to YSL keys such as his colour combinations, some sahariana-like jackets, for instance, or even to Missoni’s tricot didn’t go unnoticed to anyone.

El dramático make up de diva trasnochada, el pelo cardado a lo Diana Ross y los vestidos asimétricos y vaporosos que se alargan prácticamente hasta el suelo dejan claro que éstos son los 70s más deluxe: los del exotismo en forma de flores aplicadas por doquier, los de la sensualidad explícita, los brillos y el color potente. Creo que las múltiples referencias a las claves de YSL en las combinaciones de color, los cortes tipo sahariana en algunas chaquetas, por ejemplo, o en el tricot a Missoni no han pasado desapercibidas para nadie.

Some say some kind of restraint has arrived to Mulleavy’s sisters house, some also say maybe the brand could soon be part of the LMVH group, hence the restraint. The thing is, still working on their characteristic fabric mix & match, their drappings and their strategic slits here and there they have managed to insufflate some commerciality to their collection without sacrificing any of their key elements, and this is easier said than done. Fabrics which prints imitating wooden textures, garments in tooled leather or even Chinese porcelain typical illustrations contrast -and surprisingly- complement each other in here.

Por ahí se dice que ha llegado algo de contención a la casa de las hermanas Mulleavy, también se dice que la marca podría pasar a formar parte del grupo LMVH y que, de ahí tal contención. El caso es que, continuando con sus características mezclas de tejidos, sus drapeados y sus aberturas estratégicas en las prendas y aquí y allí han logrado insuflar comercialidad en su propuesta sin sacrificar ninguna de las claves de su imagen. Y esto suena mucho más fácil de lo que es. Tejidos cuyo estampado imita la textura de la madera, prendas en cuero labrado o ilustraciones propias de jarrón de porcelana china contrastan y, sorprendentemente, se complementan mutuamente al mismo tiempo.

La colección de las Rodarte es de lo peor que he visto en mucho tiempo, los vestidos del final dorados son de juzgado de guardia…
Cal, pero a ti te gustaban mucho? O me estoy confundiendo… A mí me ha gustado bastante menos que otras veces, sinceramente. Y comparto totalmente tu opinión respecto a los vestidos dorados, pensaba que era la única. Lo de “juzgado de guardia” me ha encantado, todavía me estoy riendo

Si,si… yo siempre he sido muy fan de las Rodarte, pero de verdad esta colección me ha decepcionado mucho…
Las críticas hablan de ella como una sublimación de lo ponible, pero es que a mí, ya me encantaba que nada fuera ponible antes… Aunque de ésta algunos vestidos me parecen bonitos (otros no, sinceramente) creo que es una pena que haya perdido la capacidad de impacto que habían tenido sus propuestas anteriores.
