You know, just like between us, I will confess that sometimes, when I was young and naïve, I wanted to be Sissi. Ok, some other times I also wanted to be Jem (the one of the Holograms, of course) or even Skipper, Barbie’s little sister (And why not Barbie? That is something I also wonder…) but to explain all these aspirations I really would need another entry, that would have nothing to do with this, so they could be discussed in detail…
Don’t panic! That is not going to happen. Because what I really wanted to tell you is that in the Museum für Film und Fernsehen of Berlin there’s an exhibition (till 29th August) about the life and works of Romy Schneider, the Austrian actress that became famous thanks to the already mentioned Sissi but, that also managed to success with all her later works that nothing had to do with the young and sumptuous empress and that even made her obtain two César awards from the French Academy for L’important c’est d’aimer (1975) and Une histoire simple (1978).
The exhibition, including pictures, posters and video pieces of some of her films, some costumes and even some personal letters Romy wrote, shows the unfortunate vital journey of the actress from her early beginnings in the cinema to her complicated personal situation in the end of her career.

Así, entre nosotros, os contaré que, alguna vez, cuando era pequeña e inocente, quise ser Sissi. Bien, otras veces quise ser Jem (la de los Hologramas, claro) o Skipper, la hermana pequeña de Barbie (¿y porqué no Barbie? Eso me pregunto yo…) pero está claro que esas aspiraciones necesitarían otra entrada, que nada tiene que ver con esta, para ser tratadas largo y tendido…

Porque lo que yo realmente quería contar es que en el Museum für Film und Fernsehen de Berlín hay una exposición hasta el 29 de Agosto sobre la vida y obra de la actriz austríaca Romy Schneider que alcanzó la fama gracias a la mencionada Sissi, pero que logró consagrar su carrera con multitud de trabajos posteriores que ya nada tenían que ver con la joven y suntuosa emperatriz y que, además, le valieron dos premios César de la Academia de Cine Francés por L’important c’est d’aimer (1975) y Une histoire simple (1978).
La exposición que incluye fotografías, carteles y fragmentos en vídeo de sus películas, algunas piezas de vestuario e incluso cartas personales de Romy, traza el desafortunado recorrido vital de la actriz desde sus inicios en el cine hasta su complicada situación personal hacia el final de su carrera.

El cabello de colores, maquillaje psicodelico y poder bailar sobre un arcoiris o un piano en medio del espacio… priceless!! Aunque tambine Las Misfits tenian lo suyo!
